Doomsday Giveaway!

December 22 will be a good day for 2 reasons:
  • It marks 19 years of married bliss to my adoring & adorable husband, Jeff.
  • If we're still here, we survived the Mayan Apocalypse! =)

In honor of sticking around (for 19 years or just past doomsday), my e-book, Solitary Sky, will be available to download for
*** FREE *** the entire day of 12-22-12!

So, this Saturday download your free e-book and give thanks to the Mayans for their lovely calendar and its even lovelier inaccuracy ….and for providing a great excuse for a giveaway. ;o)

Lyricality Update

I know it's been a while since Lyricality has been updated.  I had it temporarily put on hold due to needing to focus on writing book 2 and other things...also because I've been sick a lot recently. =P
But now I'm doing a sort of relaunch...with one major change.
Lyricality now has its own site! =)

Check out PlayLyricality.blogspot.com ...starting next week with an all new word!

Now on to this week's word...

Think of a song and send in your comments...and thank you for playing Lyricality!

<3 paxamo,

I heard it somewhere in a song...

Word games are just about my favorite thing ever...and I love music with an intensity that might not be considered healthy.  There's a soundtrack to my life running in my head at all times...and I remember lyrics to songs I learned before I could even talk.
Music is the color to my world...and words are something I enjoy playing with, even when I'm not stringing them into sentences.
A few years ago, I found a blog called "Lyric Game" ...a new word was announced in each post and people commented with the lyrics to a song in which that word was used.  It was based on a board game I had never played before...but I fell in love with it right away and played faithfully until one day it disappeared...it was just gone.
Years later, I've gotten over the hole it left in my life...but I haven't forgotten how much fun it was to play the game...so I decided to revive it here on my very own website ~ with a few important changes:

  •  the words chosen will follow a theme...related in some way to my books or short stories
  •  participation will be rewarded...the person with the most entries in one week will be named   "Lyrical Genius of the Week"...their names will be put onto a spiffy little button and prominently displayed here on the site all week long  =)

  •  there aren't any official rules...just play fair & be nice
  •  post as much of the lyrics as you want...or as much as you can remember ;o)
  •  well-known quotes and poetry are fair game...just try not to go too obscure
  •  the name of the game is "Lyricality"!

Now, to kick things off...this week's word is:

Are the wheels in your brain churning already? Leave a comment, all you lyrical geniuses...as many as you want!  I hope you have lots of fun and love the game just as much as I do! =)

<3 paxamo,

The rules are:

Ten Random Questions:

What is your favorite song
I have more than one and they change frequently...but my current favorite is The Devil Within by Digital Daggers.

Space & Andrea <3
What is your favorite dessert?
chocolate anything

What ticks you off?

When you're upset, what do you do?
Depends on how upset...I might write bad words in my journal...or punch my pillow...I've been known to cry. ;o)

Which is/was your favorite pet?
It would be easier for me to answer who is my favorite kid...I only have one of those. =)  But if we're talking about my current menagerie, I'd say my favorite is my Chihuahua, Suki...she's sweet, smart, a great cuddler, and mostly well-behaved. ;o)

clockwise from top left: Zoe, Suki, Pepper, Malfoy

Which do you prefer to wear, black or white?
black...although I do like wearing black & white...but never just white.

What is your biggest fear?
I have a fear of being trapped in a small space...like a coffin...or a car underwater.  I'm having trouble breathing just thinking about it. =P  I'm not entirely claustrophobic, but tight crowds disturb me...also clowns.

What is your attitude mostly?
Laid-back...trying to be optimistic. =)

What is perfection?
An unattainable goal...but that doesn't seem to stop people from trying.

What is your guilty pleasure?
Real Housewives of Whatever...I admit the guilt but not the pleasure...mostly they make me crazy when I watch.

Ten Random Things About Me:

1.  I collect stained glass lamps...and teapots.  And I actually have a stained glass lamp in the shape of a teapot.

2.  Sometimes I eat ice cream with a fork.

3.  I am a natural blonde.

4.  I am obsessive about hair & body soap...I have bottles lined up around my tub and most of them are green--avocado, olive oil, etc.

5.  I sound like I'm speaking a foreign language when I sneeze...usually Japanese or French.

6.  When I took the job test (ASVAB) for the military, my top 3 jobs were Data Processing Tech, Cryptologist, and Mechanic...I chose DP Tech.

7.  I have both mooned and been mooned a number of times...but not in the last 2 decades.

8.  For my first book, I spent a few months writing in my studio...a.k.a. our bedroom closet. It was quiet and secluded from all the busy-ness around the house...don't judge. ;o)

9.  Since my regular medicine container is pretty big, sometimes I carry my meds in a plastic condom box.

10.  My dad is the 7th Beatle.

And now for the nominations:

Congrats to you all!  Each of you do such a wonderful job with your blogs...hope you enjoy your award! =)

It's Oh So Quiet

It came to my attention today that comments on this blog are somehow blocked. =P

So that's why I've been getting big, fat zeroes in my comments sections.  Maybe It's not such a lonely little blog after all! ;o)
Who knows how long this has been going on?  Since the last comment 5 months ago?
Since yesterday???

It doesn't matter.  The comments are fixed now---big thanks to Dianna. <3

Let the commenting frenzy begin. ;o)

The very first trailer for Solitary Sky is finished!
I had so much fun---ok, and a little frustration---making this video that I decided I would at least make one more before Book 2 comes out.
Until then, please enjoy:

He is my reality
a neverending kiss
racing out into the stars
tumbling toward bliss

Every breath I breathe his name
my fear is fading fast
but with secrets still untold
this breath may be my last

Book 1 in the Solitary Sky Series...available at amazon.com! ;o)

Back to the Start

I'm finally back on line with a new (and better) computer...hopefully my bad luck with computers is behind me.  =)
So that means I'm getting back to work on the book trailer for Solitary Sky.  Since I completely lost the one I'd worked on so painstakingly before, I decided to keep the same basic idea, but add stuff and make changes...basically an entire rework of the whole thing.  I'll keep the progress updated here and post when it's finished.

Until then, please enjoy my very, very belated Valentine's Day wishes...because everyday should be V-day, right? ;o)

On Hold

Not much is happening here lately and I wish I could blame it all on the fact that my computer died, but that was only last week. Before then it was the holidays...always a good excuse. =) Then I was working on a book trailer for Solitary Sky...and it was almost finished when my computer crashed. =P So now I'm stuck with no computer for maybe another week...but when I get it back, I'll redo the trailer and post it here when it's finished. ;o) paxamo, STH <3
